Raise your Glass!
At the Bar Book, we not only help our customers build flavor profiles and discover new drinks, but we also share our own indulgent experiences and the amazing people and companies that make them possible. We hope these stories inspire all our followers and customers to try something new and maybe share their story with us.
On July 19th, we were fortunate enough to attend the Uncle Nearest, Inc. 18:56 Happy Hour at Rebellion on the Pike. This was the final stop of the CEO Thank You Tour 2023. A tour designed by CEO Fawn Weaver , to thank our brave men and women for their service and let them know that they are not alone, while raising a glass of Uncle Nearest 1856 to their service.
As a veteran owned company focused on distilled spirits, beers, and cigars, we could not miss out on the opportunity to enjoy great whiskey with a room full of veterans. When we walked into Rebellion on the Pike, the place was packed with supporters, enthusiasts, active-duty service members, and veterans, all there to enjoy some great drinks, food, and camaraderie. We began to chat with friends and make new ones as moved around the room in search of a table. Although it was packed, the staff was very quick to help us with cocktails and some appetizers before we got started.
A little before 18:56, Fawn took to the mic and began to personally thank everyone for making these events possible. She went on to talk about her love for servicemembers and all the amazing things our brave men and women do every day to make the United States a global superpower. Her remarks we more than just a speech, they were a call to action. She called on all members of the business community to join in the celebration of military service and encouraged them to get out and spend time with our American heroes to let them know how much they are appreciated. Then, at precisely 18:56 we all raised our glasses to toast our men and women in uniform. After the toast, Fawn offered a challenge coin to all servicemembers and veterans in attendance. Challenge Coins have been a long-standing military tradition used by military units to signify achievement, special events, and build lasting bonds with an organization. This gesture was a perfect way to cap off the event.
Camaraderie and friendship continued long into the night. Some waited in line to have short conversations, take pictures, or get an autograph from Fawn. While others bonded over tales of service and sacrifice. Either way the room was full of smiles and friends; we couldn’t have asked for a better night out.
I’d be remis if I didn’t mention the fantastic food, cocktails, and service from the team at Rebellion on the Pike. They created custom cocktails, custom food items, and managed to serve a packed house flawlessly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and I would recommend a stop at Rebellion to anyone who loves food, whiskey, or both. We can’t wait to do it again.
?????????????Thank you to Uncle Nearest, Inc. , Fawn Weaver , Rebellion on the Pike, and all the staff and team members that make these special events possible. ?
