Hollywood likes to tell us what a rainmaker should look like...

You know the Harvey Specters and Don Drapers of the world.?

They portray "the rainmaker" as bullish and toeing the line between arrogance and confidence.

But most importantly...they portray this person as naturally skilled in the areas of dealmaking, closing, and rainmaking.

Is that really the case? Are rainmakers born or are they molded over time?

The answer is yes.

Let me explain...

Hidden inside of you is a rainmaker waiting to emerge. In essence, everyone is born with a rainmaker in them...but the decision is up to you whether or not you can tap into that "persona".

Capturing that vision of yourself as a rainmaker is so pivotal to bringing out your hidden rainmaker.

You wholeheartedly need to believe that you have the capabilities to be a rainmaker with your firm. The person who can attract clients, money, new business, or even high status to an organization at will.

But visualization isn't enough...

Many people attempt to mimic these superficial (and sometimes fictional) characteristics of "rainmakers"...only to find that having just these attributes leaves you with just a shell of what a rainmaker truly is.

If you've gotten over the hurdle of self-belif that you can extract your hidden rainmaker...it's now time to focus on molding yourself into that person.

This requires an understanding of inputs and outputs.

Think of your brain as essentially a supercomputer.

And what happens when you feed - or input - a supercomputer software that's corrupted with viruses?

Well, the output is going to be filled with junk, and viruses, and your supercomputer will fail to properly produce results.

Every successful dealmaker you've ever met has downloaded fruitful inputs to their "supercomputer" that are designed to bring out their inner rainmaker.

Rainmakers feed themselves inputs that focus on skills that move the needle for their business...

Everyone has a rainmaker trapped inside them from birth. But only a few know what to do to bring that person out.

Every person who has achieved a high level of success has fed themselves fruitful inputs to achieve prosperous outputs.

Just think about Issac Newton's infamous quote when he talks about his scientific achievements:

“If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants”

Newton was influenced by the greats before him. Absorbing those inputs led to the output of his scientific genius.
