Every year, come June and the world is decorated with rainbows. Everywhere you look, there is a flag displaying solidarity with one of the most marginalized communities of our times – the LGBTQ+. June has been christened Pride Month to acknowledge and support this community, whether at the workplace or in life.
While this is commendable and we’re all for it, at Rainmaker, every month is Pride Month. Every day, we work towards building a more inclusive and accepting world for the LGBTQ+ community, along with other people on the fringes. The challenges our friends and colleagues from this community face don’t disappear on June 30 and we would be doing them a grave injustice if we forget about them until 11 months later.
While we recognize that transforming workplace culture and society at large isn’t an overnight job, we are also cognizant of the fact that the work needs to be put in every single day – which is the foundation on which we have built Rainmaker.
So whether it is Pride Month or not, we invite you to partner with us on your journey to building workplaces that are safe, more inclusive and where every individual, no matter where they stand in the organization chart, feels valued and respected.
