This effort is aimed at ensuring sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and local economies. By expanding our network of sourcing communities, we help create sustainable livelihoods that discourage deforestation and promote forest conservation.

One of our significant initiatives is the development of 55 Amazonian ingredients through innovative bioeconomy projects. By increasing our spending on raw ingredients from the Amazonian socio-bioeconomy fourfold, we support local economies and ensure sustainable resource use. This not only provides economic opportunities for local communities but also encourages the sustainable management of forest resources, aligning economic development with environmental conservation.

Natura’s Ekos Alma fragrance is a prime example of sustainable sourcing. Launched in 2019, this perfume uses ingredients like priprioca root and Copaifera oil, sourced in harmony with the natural cycles of the forest. The limited annual availability of this product highlights the importance of respecting nature’s rhythms and promoting sustainable harvesting practices. By aligning product availability with the natural cycles, we ensure that our sourcing methods do not deplete the resources and maintain the ecological balance of the rainforest.

Our engagement with the forest and its communities

We aim to engage 20 million people in the “living Amazon” cause and double the value shared with our communities. Our investments in local communities are designed to promote sustainable practices and enhance the economic benefits of conservation.
