Raincode opens its doors to the Latin American market and welcomes José Roberto!

-Hello José! Tell us a few things about yourself as a person.

My name is José, I am?Brazilian,?68 years old and?I?live?in?S?o?Paulo City, which is the largest city in Brazil. My wife is called Rosa Maria,?and we have?two?children together,?Fábio?and?Denise.?I?enjoy?reading,?a?good?barbecue (as it’s a Brazilian specialty)?and?spending time?with?my?family.

-What is your background??

I have a degree in electrical engineering, with an additional specialization in information technology (IT).?During my career, I have worked in governmental?agencies as well as private and public companies in different Brazilian states. On?the technical side, I began my career as a system information developer on the mainframe platform where I filled several roles until I reached the position of CIO. When working in business development and sales, as a Sales Executive and Consulting Services Director, I had the opportunity to help companies building their business solutions by combining different technologies, and to manage the relationship with their management team.

-What are your plans for Raincode Brazil, and how will this target the South American market?

The mainframe market in South America, in particularly in Brazil, is mature and has qualified professionals who are always looking how to embed the mainframe in the current technological environment, very much based on cloud computing. Mainframe′s legacy systems represent years of business knowledge and this must be preserved. It is much more than just a technical issue.?My main role will be to have conversations with these professionals to demonstrate how Raincode's expertise will help them succeed with the least possible risk in their migration journeys.?

-How do you see us advancing with our Partnerships such as Microsoft, Kyndryl, Accenture, other global integrators in Brazil??

Large?IT projects are generally delivered through partnerships due to their size and complexity. We carry out successful projects with our global partners in other geographies than Brazil and this background is certainly very important and must be used to open doors for us. Darius and Wilfried have introduced me to our partners, which has lead me to be able to begin conversations with these companies in Brazil. The reception has been very positive.

- And what do you think the impact of Raincode’s MF to cloud native strategy will change for the modernization market in Brazil?

Raincode′s cloud native strategy for mainframe modernization is of incredibly high technical quality, and the single-source dogma is the big differentiator over the competitors. In Brazil we must make the professionals who are responsible for the modernization of the mainframe understand in depth the importance of this concept, and realize that unlike other market solutions, Raincode’s??is truly cloud native.?

-How do you see?yourself?making a change to the market in Brazil?

I am very proud to join the Raincode team and very motivated to take our technology to the Brazilian market. Raincode's decision to have a local operation in Brazil demonstrates its importance. My greatest challenge is to build a bridge between our structures in Belgium and India and the Brazilian market through my previous experience in this market.?

-How are you finding your experience here in Brussels and how does it compare culturally to Brazil?

In?a?single?word:?fantastic.?The?attention?that?everyone?gave?me?was?very?significant?and?made?me?feel?part?of?the?Raincode team?from?the?very?first?moment.?The?exchange?of?experiences?is?being?very?important?to?me.?The?Brazilian?people?are?known as?welcoming?and?cheerful?people, and?I'm already?feeling?at?home?here?in?Brussels?(especially?because?the?weather?is?not too bad right now). Thank you very much for having me here in Brussels!?
