Kolkata Metro starts the replacement of steel third rail with aluminium in North-South corridor

Western Railway commissions first Gati Shakti terminal for Mumbai division at Nardana

Western Railway has commissioned the first Gati Shakti multimodal cargo terminal for the Mumbai Division at Nardana. This development will enhance the efficiency of cargo handling and provide an environmentally friendly mode of transportation for the railway industry. With this, the GCT received its first rake from Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway which was placed on 18th June, 2024 at the Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal at Nardana.

Dibrugarh Workshop of Northeast Frontier Railway unveils new high speed carrier coaches

Northeast Frontier Railway zone at its Dibrugarh Workshop has already produced few New High Speed Automobile Carrier (NMGHS) coaches from old GSCN coaches with a side door for loading/unloading of automobiles specially two wheelers.

The coaches are developed by Northeast Frontier Railway and were designed by Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) in consultation with automobile manufacturers, from released and unused passenger coaches.
