My recent MCPS royalties have just come through—79 pages of ‘figures’ that show I’m getting a grand total of just…… ￡61.01 in royalties this year!! yooppee fucking doo…

My contributions to the music industry and Spukify total over $9.98 billion right now and $100 million per year, I really wish I could take it all back. But the truth is that I can’t keep the studio electric on from my royalties… like WTAF?

‘Smaug The Egg-Headed Toad’ is the richest billionaire musician, in history, ever!! … He created a ‘bit-torrent’ company to create panic and then offered his ‘Spukify’ platform as the ‘solution’!!! <– the bald-faced , egg headed cheek of it!

It turned out to be even worse for the artists than Pirate Bay or Napster combined ! And that was his ‘big’ contribution to ‘music’ <– worth billions to a very small few… What does a billionaire do with all this money?

*Well the Spukify money founded a Weapons company called Helsing that uses new AI tech to direct shells to maximize human collateral damage? They've worked out that it hurts the enemy more to blow a Palestinian babies arm off that kill the babies outright... it's being used right now in the Ukraine and Gaza. It's a far more profitable business model than streaming 'All You Need Is Love'* <-- thanks in part for all your lovely songs about love....

I helped create Dido, both in artist development and programming on two Brit Award-winning albums. I programmed for U2 on two Grammy Award-winning albums. I developed and co-wrote and produced Keane, from nothing, 3 years before they signed. We got a Brit Award for Best New British Album (my third),

We sold 14 million copies ‘Hopes And Fears’. (Island Records UK didn't even invite me to the ceremony!) They’ve subsequently released my record 4 or 5 times in 20 years and have subsequently toured it multiple times... despite this they never were able to replicate the magic we created together in the first place, in my studio at my expense,

Island Records UK and the band have even just published a ‘Making Of Hopes and Fears’ book! with my lyrics in it, and didn’t even send me a courtesy copy! Despite being mentioned in the book several times? I find that's ’Kinda rude really…. such the depths of their shame, or the secret they are trying to hide.

And such is the power of the Island Records UK’ EDICT:- ‘Do not contact James!'

My most recent award-winning album for ENGLISH TEACHER, won the ‘Mercury Award in 2024’ and ‘Rolling Stone Best Breakthrough Act in 2024’… yet no mention from any podium, despite my artist development, co-writing and production, mix, and programming, SAME record company: same airbrush…. and yet again, I’m in litigation with BMG / Island Records UK.... they mention their hairstylist though!

Is there really no-one at the helm of these artists 'artistic development'? Certainly the self-absorbed, self-selected, self-appointed A&R can actually do something? They can’t be THAT STUPID! that incapable …(Leaving Tim Rice-Oxley to bumble and ramble on in a vacuum on his own doesn’t create hit records!).. the proof is in the pudding... with all the resources at their disposal in 20 years! they havn't! I ...Tim and I created the song 'Sunshine' in 6 hours!... imagine were we'd be now?

Do I need to remind them Island would have never have signed either of those two bands without my involvement and intervention?.. Indeed, they DIDN’T!..I developed them!

I’ve made hit albums with Phil Collins, assisted Brian Eno, for months and worked for artists like Mel C on her hit debut album ‘Northern Star’, Madonna, ‘Ray Of Light’ demos, Kylie Minogue, Atomic Kitten, Sinéad O’Connor, Boy George, Pet Shop Boys worked with The Matrix film soundtrack composer Rob Dougan, I’ve worked with Rollo of Faithless on ‘Sunday 8pm’, The Cardigans and many more — I’d sold millions and millions of records before I even met KEANE! or ENGLISH TEACHER…

I met Louis, he struck me, at best, as ‘inexperienced and overcompensating’— at worst just a spoiled mouthy brat! Who couldn’t keep his mouth shut... while the big boys talked.

He arrogantly poached my acts KEANE and now ENGLISH TEACHER. and has proved that he doesn't even understand the basic rules of artist development or A&R.

He has thus fucked up KEANE’S career. Everyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear will confirm… no hit second album... la fin.... kapput.... finished.... out to pasture... finito!

Now, believe it or not, He's in the process of fucking up ENGLISH TEACHER too! It’s funny how these bands never seem to deliver a hit second album?… Louis, is impotent creatively, and has mistakenly thought artist development and A&R is a sueless and worthless waste of time and that it's all just 'about the band’…

It's like you don't understand Rule one of developing artists!

And while we are on this subject, what is the secret of your (non)success? what are you 'BIG' achievements ? Your modus operandi, so to speak? ... You sign band with existing hits,(mostly songs I've already developed, co-written and produced mind you) Songs made without any of your interference, and then you slowly place a pillow over the artists face and smother them to death...

None of your signings have EVER had a successful second record, have they? - You are the A&R equivalent of black death! ... I'm surprise uncle Lollipop hasn't caught on to this fact.

Mumford and Sons? pff... there's a band who can suck the vibe out of a whole arena and leave everyone, gasping for air and hydration! Word is they had to fill out Earls Court before you'd sign them... which they did, with the help of Daddies money!... they had money, Louis, not talent. Don't confuse the two.

Gotye, for example, has talent, and was well placed for a huge second follow up record, but it's all too late now ... Where the fuck is he Louis? Do you even know? Last I heard he was picking navel fluff in Marseille, on some obsession to collect mechanical musical boxes.... you need to get his head out is arse mate!

Unless of cause NOT having hit records is your primary objective?... if helping artist NOT achieve their goals, you are doing a fine job...

Anyhow, you made the mistake, again, of thinking my own artist development, songwriting and production skills were of no value, and again I’ve been deliberately airbrushed out from the history like some kind of Kremlin photo edit (I helped the band ENGLISH TEACHER come up with their name, FFS!.. They were called FRANK when I started working with them,)... bet they didn't tell you that as they sat there moon-blinked and bent over and signing in blood to the dream-crusher!

With KEANE I had to spent ￡1000's on lawyers serving you and Island Records UK legal papers in 2010, and all I got was a promise from Claire Surgess to do better next time, next time came and went and on the new 20th Anniversary edition of 'Hopes and Fears' 48 times you failed to accord me the signed and agreed upon credit! I mean my own co-write production, programming and mixes are labelled as 'Tim's Demos' for fucks sake... like WTAF Louis!?... why are you so hell bent on denying me my rightful signed, agreed upon credit? I wasn't this pissed off when I gave you KEANE!

Legal action doesn't work, Seems there is no real legal recourse? hmm what's next then?... legal action is meant to prevent us acting like beasts...

Is it that you don't care? --> feeling invulnerable much? are you 'fearless' or worse still, don’t you just care about music…perhaps for you it's only about collecting hit records like a stamp collector and dominating the airwaves with them? until the artists are spent, sucked dry.

My words of advice to any musician or songwriter who’s read down this far — DON’T SIGN TO A MAJOR —

The Majors labels, Island Records UK / Universal, specifically, treat creatives as 'expendable beasts of burden' They are a cliche of self-selected, self-appointed, ‘chosen’ ones - talent-less but at the same time they truly believe themselves to be special and different from the rest of us.

They use their power and influence to moon-blink and hood-wink the public at large and those they want to sign, the eager neophytes who sign their souls away only to dance the slow shuffle, the dance of Little Quislings towards depravity, degradation and ultimately into the very jaws of hell… but, hey, that’s just my opinion.

As Lily Fontaine says in her prescient song on the Island Records UK album 'This Could Be Texas'--> "Not Everybody Gets To Go To Space"
