Rafael Nadal attempts an unprecedented thirteenth Roland Garros title

2020 French Open Tennis Men's Tip is Rafael Nadal - the king of clay. Rafa has won an unprecedented 12 titles at Roland Garros, the most of any player, at any of the four majors. However number 13 could prove to be the master of clay's toughest challenge yet.

Nadal sat out the US Open so has only had the single warm-up tournament, the Rome Masters, to get back into top level competition before Paris. In Rome Rafa was attempting to take that title for the 10 time but was unable to proceed past the quarter final. Instead falling to Diego Schwartzman of Argentina 6-2 7-5 who went on to become a finalist in that tournament. While Rafa normally beat Schwartzman we should not read too much into this loss as the king of clay started slowly in his 2019 campaign and stepped it up when it truly mattered at Roland Garros.

Challengers for the 2020 French Open Men's title will come from world number one Novak Djokovic who has not lost a completed match in 2020. Novak's US Open ended with a much publicised shock disqualification, however he has moved forward since with a record breaking 35th Masters trophy in Rome.

If Rafael Nadal is the king of clay, Dominic Thiem is considered to be the heir by many to the throne. Dominic will be looking to go one better at Roland Garros than 2019 where he beat Novak Djokovic in 5 sets in the semi final, before falling to Rafa in 4 sets in the Final. Since then the 27 year old Austrian has claimed his maiden major at the US Open this year which must give him a massive boost of confidence heading into this years French Open's tournament.

Lastly champions find a way, that's why Rafael Nadal will find a way to win his 13th Roland Garros title.
