Radical Truth: Trusting the process

Shortly after I arrived in Lisbon, I launched the Radical Truth Cards.

The concept started as handwritten questions I put on everyone’s dinner plate during a mini retreat.

The questions cover those existential topics that I personally like to engage with.

That evening our group stayed in conversation until 2am. We deeply listened, and we were deeply moved.

Inspired by the impact of the questions, we then turned these handwritten notes into the Radical Truth Cards with an online store.

Even though it’s a simple product - or maybe because of its simplicity - the cards have a profound impact on everyone who engages with them.

The cards bring connection, meaning, truth and belonging - all those things that we as humans so deeply long for.

Before the pandemic, I started hosting Radical Truth Hikes with the cards in nature. A friend got so inspired that he made the online version, just for fun.

Then lockdown came, and I hosted online circles with the cards with people all over the world, and hosted for companies too. The cards became part of Oyasin retreats.

I ran experiments with the cards and made an effort, however as I was focusing all my energy on the plant medicine work with Oyasin, I kind of left the cards for what they were… I didn’t promote them, didn’t share anything online, and even lost the Instagram account… ??

Yet somehow, the cards started to show up everywhere.

Retreat and event hosts started playing them in their events. People started to host weekly dinners with them.

I keep running into random people telling me how much the cards have positively impacted their relationships ??

I started to receive orders from everywhere in Europe. Soon I ran out of stock… printed some more, and ran out again…

It took a while before I understood these ‘subtle’ nudges, realising that these cards have an amazing energy behind them.

I listened... and felt ready to create 5 more decks around various themes of connection.

A few months ago I met my current co-founder Philipp Gronau via mutual friends, who had successfully grown a superfood e-commerce company to EUR 70m, responsible for supply chain and operations. Our skills and experience are fully complementary.

Through two decades of spiritual journey, I have learned to trust the process, and the timing of everything.

I’m aware of and honour the responsibility that comes with guiding others into speaking their truth, as well as the truth that I’m required to hold myself.

I therefore don’t see this as just a company; for me the cards are a tool for transformation. They are fully aligned with my spiritual journey; a quest for ‘the truth’ (Satya in Sanskrit) to reach deep inner states of Samadhi.

It’s a chance to share these tools for truth, transformation and connection with the world, from an energy of love.

Guiding people with truth circles, and interviewing people on video with the cards; real people, who answer real questions, and seeing the impact it has on people, is my favorite part of the Radical Truth Cards.

While guiding, I gaze into the eyes of the person who is speaking, and I actively open my heart, sending out the vibrations of love that I feel. This energy creates a little bubble that brings a strong sense of safety, allowing people to fully surrender in opening up. I’m amazed at how ready people are to share their truth, and how quickly they open up if you are fully present with them.

I’m also amazed by how much wisdom everyone holds - not just the ‘conscious’ archetype (from whom this is to be expected), but more so the man on the street.

Their profundity and vulnerability touches something deep in my heart, and has brought me to tears often.

Together with Phil we have launched the second deck ‘Love & Intimacy’. It’s meant to guide couples, lovers and dates to true intimacy; which goes way beyond the physical. The questions range from deep and meaningful, thought-provoking, to teasing and arousing.

The Love & Intimacy deck is our response to the instantly gratifying ‘love as consumption’ energy that you find in online dating, often devoid of any intimacy at all. It also is meant to solve the challenges that long-term partners experience in nurturing their intimacy; finding that the day-to-day rhythm and obligations chip away the spark of fire that brought them together in the first place.

We have prepared those questions that ignite that spark, and make you fall in love (again).

Each deck includes two Mystery Cards that guide you in a surprising way to non-verbal connection. Truth beyond words… A journey of Tantric discovery.
