Radical Continuous Improvement.... What??

Radical Continuous Improvement.... What??

·        The COVID market has changed the job requirements and the skill sets of those around you no longer match up. How do you move forward?

·        You’re a brand new leader, maybe in a new company, maybe even in a new industry, and you’re walking into a room with a well seasoned team looking right back at you. What next?

·        Or maybe big changes are coming because your organizations’ business model had to be redesigned to accommodate the new norm. You’re not sure if you can ramp up in time. What do you do?

These are a few very real challenges that many of us are dealing with right now – and it can be stressful.

First and foremost, you’re not alone here. Second, seeing the situation from a different perspective may just give you the angle you need to take that next step, set that new standard, or elevate your team or product to that next level.

All that being said, let me extend my hand and introduce myself.

My name is Nichol Preciado and I am a Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence nerd.

You know those types of people who get excited about charts and graphs? The kind that get all giddy with excitement when they dig through financials? The ones with the ear to ear grin when they see a plan created to streamline a process, or maybe a department, or even an entire organization? You know the type!

I’m a left brain, number loving, LEAN enthusiast who loves to utilize financials and data to come up with road maps that translate strategic vision into effective, efficient, user friendly systems.

It’s kind of a thing.

Did I mention I have a tattoo of the Pi symbol?

On the other hand, I’m a total sucker for all that vibrant, beautiful, wonderfully life-y, extra positive, totally ra-ra, sometimes woo woo, inspirational stuff that tends to show up on just about every platform out there (see below). All those leadership quotes and gleanings from wisdom traditions, the worlds’ religions and ancient philosophers… sign me up!

So where do the dots connect?

I believe that human wisdom that has passed the test of time and still holds true is intensely practical and beneficial in the business world and is useful in solving today's problems.

In my 15+ years of experience with operations, project management, and team development; with a Masters in Accounting, a LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt, a PMP and Scrum Master certification, and a LOVE of all things “improvement” related, I believe being clear about who we are as leaders (cue ancient and proverbial wisdom), while embracing a beginners mindset, yields tremendous results for ourselves, our organizations, and for those around us. At the end of the day, radical continuous improvement begins at the core of who we are and how we show up - if we want to talk the talk, we gotta walk the walk.

It’s no secret that our world has turned inside out this year and that we have a whole lot of creative problem solving ahead before we get back to stable ground. So, let’s bring our best to the table and have a conversation about what’s going right and what’s going wrong. And more importantly, what can we do about it?

Let’s embrace our unique perspectives and see how sharing them can benefit the collective whole. Let’s tackle our challenges and move forward together.

What are we waiting for?
