Radical acceptance

I've set myself a challenge to be vulnerable eight weeks in a row. This is week three. Practicing radical acceptance as a change maker.
At home we took some time to heal through painting, talking and dancing.
Here's the thoughts that came out for me.
Do not read this article and think you have to settled for less, or your goals need to be smaller. I have big goals and I practice radical acceptance.
Enjoy...
I’m not an ‘activist’
I’m not an ‘influencer’
I don’t write ‘policy’
I am a radical acceptor.
I am focusing on accepting what has happened.
Allowing myself to accept the past.
The mistakes of myself and others.
Allowing several truths to exist at the same time.
BUT holding my truth as my own, no matter.
I am not going to have the privilege I see in my peers.
I’ll never truly understand my own privilege.
I will keep being curious, learning and listening.
I’ll keep asking questions of myself first.
Before asking them of others.
I won’t stop pushing for change, BUT I won’t get frustrated by others.
Just no.
That is my acceptance.
Others lack of movement is on them, not on me.
My peace won’t be disturbed.
Above all I will accept that all we really have is now.
The rest is in my mind.
I believe I will continue to find my tribe.

One of my son's favourite songs right now is this: We are a tribe. Over the weekend we took some time out to paint and dance. We took some time out to think about acceptance and being.

2 年I always love your posts, Mo! Especially the wholeness of them - we are humans, we are families, we are ambitious... all this. And we need to slow and care for ourselves and one another. Thank you for always inspiring!
