Radiation Safety in CT-Scan Room? Not Safe!
Exposure to X-rays is Lot More Dangerous
X-rays are high energy photons that can penetrate human flesh and are stopped by bone which absorbs x-rays. This is how x-ray is taken in the hospitals on a film. CT Scan requires continuous X-ray exposure to generate 3-D pictures and X-ray exposure is for much longer period. Man in the picture is a M. Tech engineer Mr. Kripal Singh from MITS Gwalior who did survey of the CT Scan room to know the amount of radiation level exists in the background of the CT Scan room. He found that exposure generated more than permissible level of radiation background and no one else other than the person being scanned should be present in the CT Scan room when X-ray is ON. Relatives are often seen in the CT Scan room near the patient. Radiation level outside the CT Scan room is relatively less and safe. Engineer is see collecting radiation data outside the CT Scan room. Keep your radiation exposure as low as possible.
GM Detector Instrument Developed By Mr. Kripal Singh
GM detector instrument developed by Mr. Kripal Singh at Sensors Technology is shown below. One can see number of electronics circuit boards and also long metal case GM Detector for X-rays. GM Detector looks like a long gold color metal tube. Above to the GM Tube is a 500V DC power supply. On the left side is the Microcontroller board which helps in counting the radiation events and then it also displays in LCD screen and also sends data to the computer.
Technology For Science Graduates and EE Engineers
Radiation detection technology is most suitable for work for science graduates and electrical and electronics engineers.
How much does it cost to learn this technology?
Within Rs.70000/= (US$1000) one can learn to build such system and commercially these can be produced and sold for radiation safety. One can learn this technology in just 2 weeks depending on one's capacity of learning. Training fee is only Rs.70000/= (US$1000) for 2 weeks full time training at www.sensorstechnology.com/ or alternatively you can get this technology from BARC, DAE Government of India for about Rs.5 Lacs. We charge only less than 20% fee and also give away all required components totally free of charge.
Come to get trained at www.sensorstechnology.com/
You may like to learn this technology from a scientist who is well trained and has several decades of experience in radiation safety instrumentation. Come and learn from nuclear scientist.

FPGA Engineer at Major defense contractor
8 年Wonderful Dr. Tiwari. So this room had Ct scanner that was running when the measurements were taken - Was it GE or Siemens. It was also excellent how you tied it all together the physics and the sensor tech and embedded SW.
