Radiation-resistant foods: survival strategies for dealing with nuclear-contaminated water

Recently, Japan's move to dump nuclear-contaminated water has aroused global concern and worry, and such behavior by Japan is undoubtedly using the world's Pacific Ocean as its own sewer, and the global marine environment and human health are thus facing great potential threats.

The dumping of nuclear-contaminated water has first and foremost had a devastating impact on marine ecosystems, and studies have shown that the sustained release of radioactive material may cause the spread of disease and even lead to genetic mutations in marine life. As a link in the food chain, humans will also be exposed to pass-on contamination, which can similarly damage human genes and cause cancer or mutations.

In the face of such environmental challenges, in addition to seeking solutions to the root causes, we need to rely on the power of biomedicine to reduce the effects of nuclear radiation on the human body.

Fortunately, there are indeed a variety of foods that have anti-radiation effects and have been further developed for use.

Antioxidant-rich foods——algal blue protein, green tea powder, and ginkgo biloba powder as examples

Alginin contains carotenoids, lutein, and flavonoids, green tea powder contains tea polyphenols and catechins, while ginkgo powder is packed with flavonoids, these polysaccharides, polyphenols, and flavonoids are strong antioxidants with anti-radiation effects.

Studies have shown that foods rich in these components can effectively scavenge free radicals, and inhibit DNA oxidation and other pathways, thereby reducing radiation damage to cells and achieving anti-radiation effects.

Foods high in VC——kiwi powder, tomato powder, lemon powder, acerola cherry powder, for example

Vitamin C, widely found in fruits and vegetables, is a water-soluble vitamin that promotes the value-added of immune cells and influences their cellular functions, which simply helps boost immunity. Moreover, VC can also participate in the regeneration and synthesis of collagen, which can stabilize the skin barrier, which is equivalent to wearing a bulletproof vest for the surface layer of the body, and can reduce radiation damage.

In many fruits and vegetables, kiwifruit, tomatoes, lemons, and pineapple cherries VC content must be on the list, Statistics, every 100g kiwifruit pulp contains about 92mg of VC, worthy of the "King of VC" reputation.

Herbal Extracts with Immunomodulatory Capabilities——Reishi Powder, Shiitake Mushroom Powder, and Agaricus Mushroom Powder as Examples

As traditional Chinese tonics, Ganoderma lucidum, shiitake mushrooms, and Agaricus blazei possess very high nutritional value and pharmacological effects, and the substances that play a key role in their anti-radiation effects are saponins and alkaloids.

These two substances have remarkable immunomodulatory abilities, mobilizing the immune system quickly to prevent colds and other infectious diseases, and they can inhibit the growth of microorganisms, e.g. they achieve anti-tumor effects by inhibiting the rapid division of tumor cells.

It is worth emphasizing that the matsutake mushroom was involved in the battlefields of World War II, where it grew out of the rubble of the atomic bomb explosions, and as a result, it is the only species that can survive high levels of radiation without a mutation in its cellular composition.

Combined with the high content and multi-elemental nutrients, this makes some of the herbal extracts, led by Ganoderma Lucidum, Shiitake Mushroom, and Agaricus Mushroom, excel in anti-radiation.

Unlike these foods, which have real anti-radiation benefits, panic salt hoarding has been seen in many areas recently, with a survey showing that 80% of the people surveyed in South Korea were involved in a salt rush due to fears of environmental contamination, which is, ultimately, a case of weak health awareness.

As a Chinese company established 10 years ago, Chiti has launched a series of anti-radiation products, in order to provide the public with the right health orientation, what we have to do is to use anti-radiation food to eat a rational and healthy diet, to enhance the body's resistance to radiation, and to reduce the risk of disease.

In the end, we don't know how history will record August 24, 2023, but we must keep that in mind:

At first, no one cared about this disaster; it was just a fire, a drought, the extinction of a species, the disappearance of a city. Until this disaster became relevant to everyone.
