The COVID-19 pandemic put a spotlight on an old-age conversation about health inequities and uncovered wounds that had not fully been healed. Concerns about social, economic and health disparities placed a much needed microscope on whether progress was really being made or just pushed under the rug.
The pandemic exposed the magnitude of health inequality in America. But most importantly, it raised the consciousness of the value of our stories in nursing, medicine, and public health. They matter.
As a result, we introduced and implemented the groundbreaking process of scientific storytelling and how it can bridge gaps in one of the most pressing issues of our time ----health inequities. We are excited about the impact it is now making and how it is advancing the science around the globe. Stay tuned.

5 个月Love this!!! ~500K RNs/LPN ... American Black Nurses provide amazing services across our country and abroad. Whether in civilian or military roles, Black Nurses have helped all while deserving even more notoriety for generations of service. Most have little idea the absolute number. Most organizational marketing overlooks our folks. Most advertising, if done at all, will only show us only helping us when our Black Nurses help all. Just like any other nurses. America is ... because of all our Nurses! #ACommon1Connectivity for #TheGreaterGood

6 个月Excellent contribution. As a latino male in a white female dominated profession I endured racism, disparate treatment, and covert attempts to prevent upward mobility in education. I went to law school to defend nurses who endure gender, race and ethnic bias. Racism comes in many colors.
