The Racing Foundation announces date for 2024 conference
The Racing Foundation Conference, which sees delegates from across British racing and other global racing jurisdictions attend a day of learning, challenge and debate, will take place on Wednesday 2nd October. The Racing Foundation is delighted to congratulate?Lauren Semple from the?Scottish Racing Academy (SRA) for winning the 2024 Community Award at the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards, sponsored by Godolphin.
The SRA was formed in 2019 to enhance horseracing education and training provision in Scotland and the north of England. The Racing Foundation has supported the SRA’s development since its pilot and has provided over £1million of continuity funding through its four-and-a-half-year delivery.
The Community Award recognises individuals who exceed their everyday duties to positively impact people, racehorses, charities, and communities associated with the racing industry.?
We sat down with Lauren to learn more about her volunteer role with the SRA and the significant impact she has made?to the lives of young people.
THE PONY RACING AUTHORITY LIMITED announces 2024 taster days
Pony Racing Taster Days are an excellent opportunity to find out more about pony racing.
The taster days, which are normally unmounted / without ponies, are aimed at all children aged between seven and 15 years of age. Those who ride and who don’t (yet) ride, those who have never thought about having a go at pony racing and those who have thought about it, but aren’t sure how to get involved.
Places available for Racing Foundation-funded course ‘An Introduction to Environmental Sustainability in British Horseracing’
'An Introduction to Environmental Sustainability in British Horseracing’ ?is a one-day industry-wide course available to everyone working in racing and provides industry professionals with the information they need to understand environmental sustainability, how it impacts the sport of racing, and what they can do in their day-to-day work to mitigate the risk and minimise the impact of climate change.
The course will run on the 23rd of April 2024 at the British Racing School and again on the 26th of November 2024 at York Racecourse. It has been funded by the Racing Foundation and delivered by the British Racing School in conjunction with industry environmental sustainability experts?White Griffin.
