RACI Roles

RACI Roles

In Agile methodology, the RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed) matrix can be adapted to clarify roles and responsibilities within Agile teams. Here’s a breakdown of how RACI roles fit into Agile practices:

| RACI Role | Agile Role | Responsibilities |

| Responsible (R) | - Product Owner - Development Team | - Responsible for getting the work done, delivering the product increments, and meeting the sprint goals. Product Owner: Defines the product vision, and backlog prioritization, and ensures user stories are ready. Development Team: Executes the work, completes sprint tasks, and delivers high-quality outputs.

| Accountable (A) | Scrum Master | - Ensures Agile processes are followed and the team works efficiently. - Facilitates Scrum events, removes impediments, and ensures the team stays focused on the sprint goals. Is accountable for overall team performance and success in Agile transformation.

| Consulted (C) | Stakeholders - Agile Coach | - Provides input, feedback, and clarifications to help refine user stories and product backlog items. Agile Coach: Supports Agile practices and helps improve team maturity, providing advice and guidance.

| Informed (I) | Stakeholders - Leadership | - Kept informed about the progress, major decisions, and any changes in direction through reports, sprint reviews, or demos. Stakeholders include customers, end-users, and managers. They don’t actively participate in daily work but need updates on product status. |

- In Agile, the focus is on collaboration and cross-functional teamwork, with less emphasis on rigid role boundaries.

- RACI helps provide clarity when defining who should take responsibility for various tasks while still maintaining Agile’s adaptive nature.
