Race to the Customer.. not race to the bottom! Do you do a digital lot walk?
"The internet makes it a race to the bottom!" How many times have we heard that or even thought that? Well here is a different concept, one that is preached by many vAuto Performance Managers to dealer on a daily bases. Make it a race to the customer. So many dealers are paying 3rd party websites to help sell inventory but fail to review their inventory is presented online. You may be paying a website to host your inventory and also tell your customers to look somewhere else! If you are not merchandising your vehicles properly.. you may be racing to the bottom by simply building value in your price..not your vehicle!
And I'm not just talking about that one 3rd party site with the big red and green arrows. Did you know that the 3 top vehicle websites all have a market value reference? That's right.. they are looking at the value of your vehicle based on price, equipment and even your dealer rating to establish if your vehicle is a good deal.. a great deal.. or even priced above market! (And you paid them to say that!)
In the photo is a 24hr turnaround where the dealer reviewed his description with his Performance Manager from vAuto and identified missing equipment. We updated the description in vAuto and the next day.. with out lowering his price.. his value to the market increased on this website and others by almost $900!
