To RA or Not to RA ( Does yours look the same ? )
I am sharing this information because I care. I would like to reinforce that it is vital for us to cultivate monthly saving habits.
That said... I want to share with you a real world scenario: MY current retirement annuity situation.
Please note: I am not saying that you should or should not invest in retirement annuities. That decision is up to you, but this situation caused me great concern. I was actually quite distraught.
With a bit of research (and a lot of luck) I found a simple solution and my fears have been laid to rest. I can now save with confidence, knowing that my savings are protected from inflation and economic instability.
Please note: I am not a financial advisor, but I AM a concerned friend.
Here we go: My total contributions to my retirement annuity to date (5 years) is more than what it is worth.
"But compounding interest is key", I hear you say. In that case, where is it?
"Oh, the market is down." This money will be worthless at the end of the policy's term.
Compound interest is supposed to GROW the capital and COMBAT inflation.
