From the perspective of environmental protection, almost all countries in the world treat R600a refrigerant in new refrigeration equipment There are no restrictions on the initial installation and after-sales maintenance.


The main purpose of R600a


Mainly used to replace R12 and R134a refrigerants in refrigerators, freezers, and other small refrigeration equipment; because R600a is flammable, it is usually only used in low-temperature refrigeration equipment with a small amount of liquid, and it is also often used as a mixed refrigerant. Two components; R600a is compatible with traditional lubricants.

The difference between R134a and R600a refrigerant in refrigerator


R134a (tetrafluoroethane) is not good for refrigeration systems because of its high water solubility. Even if there is a small amount of water, it will produce acid, carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide under the action of lubricating oil, which will cause corrosion to metals. Therefore, R134a requires higher drying and cleaning of the system.


R600a (isobutane) is slightly soluble in water and has good compatibility with most metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, copper and aluminum.


R134a has very low toxicity and is non-flammable in the air. The safety category is A1, which is a very safe refrigerant.


R600a has a weak irritation and anesthetic effect. It is a flammable gas. It can form a BaoZa mixture when mixed with air. It may burn BaoZa in case of heat and open flames. Violent reaction with oxidant. Its vapor is heavier than air and can spread to a considerable distance at a lower place, and will ignite back when it encounters a fire source.


R134 has a certain greenhouse effect. R600a has no greenhouse effect.


R600a's evaporating pressure, condensing pressure, and exhaust temperature are all lower than R-134a. The lower liquid density of R600a refrigerant makes its charging capacity 45% of R-134a's. It has good refrigeration performance and its refrigeration capacity is 55 of R-134a. %; R600a refrigerant has a strong destructive effect on the ozone layer due to R11 and R12, and the greenhouse effect is obvious. Among the CFCS alternative routes, one is the alternative route using R134a refrigerant represented by the United States and Japan; the other It is represented by Germany as an alternative route using hydrocarbons as refrigerants.


In the early days, China’s refrigerator industry focused its attention and energy on the alternative route of R134a refrigerant. R134a refrigerant and mineral lubricating oil are not compatible with each other, and the cleanliness control requirements of the production process and refrigeration system components are too strict. The energy consumption of refrigerators has also increased after using R134a refrigerant, and the refrigerant still has a certain greenhouse The effect is not the optimal refrigerant alternative route.


The advantages of typical hydrocarbon refrigerants such as isobutane (R600a) just overcome the shortcomings of R134a refrigerant. The excellent thermophysical properties of R600a determine that the refrigerant has higher energy efficiency and compressor efficiency than CFCS and HFCS. (COP value) and the refrigerator's overall cooling efficiency (power consumption index) are higher than R134a. Due to the advantages of energy saving and environmental pollution, Germany first successfully used hydrocarbons as refrigerants in refrigerators. With the maturity of the process and technology, R600a refrigerant has also been widely used in China's refrigeration industry.


How to charge R600A refrigerant


1. Quantitative filling method


The quantitative charging method is relatively simple, that is, use a dedicated quantitative dosing device to charge R600A refrigerant according to the charging amount specified on the refrigerator R600A refrigerant refrigerator nameplate.


2. Observe the filling method


The observation method can be summarized as "two look and three touch". That is, after the refrigerator works for one hour, one, look at the pressure gauge. In summer, the low-pressure pressure is generally controlled at 0.05 MPa—0.07 MPa, and in winter at 0.02 MPa—0.04 MPa. If the pressure is too high, it means that the refrigerator R600A freon has been added, and the pressure is small, which means that the R600A refrigerant is less and needs to be charged. Up. Second, look at the frosting situation. If there is all frost in the refrigerator, it means that the amount of R600A refrigerant in the refrigerator is almost the same. If it is only partially frosted, then the refrigerator has less R600A refrigerant and needs to be charged. Third, touch it by hand. (1) Feel the temperature of the condenser. If the refrigerator R600A Freon is added too much, the entire condenser will be hot, and if it is too little, it will not heat up; (2) Touch the low pressure return pipe. If the return air pipe has a cold feeling, it is normal. If the return air pipe is frosted, the refrigerator R600A freon is too much, if the return air pipe is not cold, it means that the refrigerator R600A refrigerant is insufficient, and this time needs to be filled; (3) Touch the filter and capillary tube temperature. If the temperature of the filter drier is too high, it means that the refrigerator R600A refrigerant is too much. If it feels hot, it means it is normal. If it does not generate heat, it means the refrigerator R600A refrigerant is insufficient.


3. Current measurement method


The current measurement method is to monitor the current with an ammeter. When the current reaches the rated current of the refrigerator, the amount of R600A refrigerant in the refrigerator is normal. If it is too large, the refrigerator R600A refrigerant is too much. If the current is small, the refrigerator R600A refrigerant is insufficient.
