The "R R R" of Resilience

I was listening to a podcast the other day by "C. Pallavi Rao Narvekar, who once upon a time was a RJ with Radio Mirchi and worked in various capacities in AIR and Doordarshan. At the peak of her career, she was diagnosed with Myasthenia gravis —a rare neurological disorder & later a series of health issues. She survived with only a single vocal cord when her profession was totally dedicated to speaking. Her determination and grit to live life with a loving family pushed her to survive against all the odds.
In our daily lives, we come across many inspiring #resilience stories. It made me reflect that "Being resilient" is the "power of mind" & it is the mind game where we accept our vulnerability & still push for that ray of hope to rise above adversities.
But, "#vulnerability " is always considered as sign of weakness.
We all know that the road to success is not linear and has its own peaks and troughs, twists and turns. When we listen to the success stories of achievers, usually we miss to understand their adversities which they went through in achieving that success. Because failure brings pain, disappointment & no one wants to experience the same.
#Leadership too is a journey where we pass through rough terrain and dark valleys. It is perceived as a strong & powerful role for taking tough calls but there is another perspective on the same.
#Leaders, like everyone else, are fallible, and they cannot always be strong. They embrace vulnerability which is considered as a strong trait for great leaders. We receive more acceptance by team when we accept our vulnerability and express it.
So, even though vulnerability sounds "weak," it has its own "strengths" to make us a strong leader.
What motivates people to succeed after failure is not only their passion, drive, or grit, but also their acceptance of failure and understanding the reasons for it.?Acceptance has an immense power to heal the wounds. By accepting & realizing our vulnerabilities, we gain from the learnings and become wiser in our lives.
Successful people say "Don't be shy of your vulnerability."
The famous book "Rising strong" covers 3Rs to help rise against the odds.
1) Reckoning
2) Rumble
3) Revolution
?Reckoning: :?Recognizing our own emotions
Adversities hit and pushed us down to the corner. This is the time when we feel the emotions of hurt, depression, guilt, anger, etc.
Khalil Gibran, in his famous book "The Prophet", mentions that "Out of sufferings have emerged the strongest souls". The massive characters are seared with scars.

Yes, it is so true that we need to be thankful for the difficult times that can help us become stronger.
Reckoning is more about self-awareness about our emotions. It is the starting point of acceptance of our emotions.
Rumble: Understanding the reasons for our emotions
This is the step where we go deep; where we search and identify the reasons for our emotions. We understand the reasons and identify the gaps and mistakes which become our learning lessons for the future.
Rumble becomes an important step in the healing process. We come out of that dark valley of emotions & embrace the ray of recovery with the learnings.
Revolution :?Be?resilient
This is the step which help us prepare to face any future challenges. It takes the learning from both reckoning & rumble to equip us &?face the world. When the #heartset meets the #mindset, there comes the synergy that helps us to rise above the challenges and face the world.
At the end, we are all humans with emotions that keep us alive. When we understand the power of emotions through #selfawareness , acceptance and understanding, we become more mindful and conscious in our approach.
In this leadership journey, we are often pushed to make tough calls, which impact our emotions badly. Implementing RRR (3R) learning is a good way to tackle those challenges and rise strongly.
Let's lift each other
