This year Singapore hosted the prestigious 145th?Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA), attracting experts from all around the world to engage in discussions, network, and learn about the newest developments in intellectual property?highlighting?the interplay of human brilliance and technical advances, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre from May 16, 2023 to May 20, 2023.

Dinesh Nair (Patent & Trade Mark Attorney), Dr. Rajinder Kumar Sapru, (Senior Patent Consultant), Adv. Ameet Deshpande (Litigator & Trademark Attorney), Adv. Sanjeev Sharma (IP Attorney - International Trademarks), Adv. Nithya S. (Litigator & Patent Agent) and Adv. One of the major themes at the INTA 2023 revolved around technological advancement and the adoption of such innovations in the current regime like evaluating the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) in trademark protection and enforcement. The discussions were thought-provoking, and the knowledge shared was invaluable. The networking sessions provided our team with valuable connections and potential collaborations that would strengthen the future of brand protection.

Continuing the themes from earlier years, INTA 2023 also offered fascinating panel discussions on growing legal concerns in the digital era during which the ramifications of blockchain technology for trademark rights and the possibilities of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in intellectual property were discussed. The discussions emphasized the necessity of adaptability in a fast-changing world, as well as the need for inventive tactics to defend brands in the face of new and distinct problems.

Beyond the official sessions, R K Dewan and Co interacted with several members of the IP Fraternity as well as inspiring individuals at our own Booth establishing vital acquaintances. Singapore provided a bustling backdrop, where the RKD team was privileged to be exposed to the different aspects of its rich cultural heritage, culinary delights, and architectural marvels.
