R-Clad Installation

I'd like to post a basic section detail of a R-Clad Installation for a typical residential foundation. The minimum 2" cover is simply so that the non-coated insulation below is not exposed to UV and so the R-Clad panel appears to continue down with the foundation for an organic structural appearance.

In this application, the top and bottoms of the panels do not nee to be beveled as the soil covers the bottom edge and the flashing covers the top edge. However to give a aesthetically pleasing look between panel sections, it is still recommended to bevel the vertical edges. It makes the finish very sharp looking and professional. Because of the beveled edges, the panel is typically 1/2" thicker than the required width for the insulation rating.
