It’s now officially summer, but even before the solstice, a lot of Colorado was dealing with some seriously hot weather. This week, a “heat dome” is moving west toward Colorado – rather unusual, as weather mostly moves west to east.?

As it continues to be hot and dry in a lot of the state, we’ll bring you ways to stay safe and cool, plus explainers like why Denver Parks and Recreation is able to break Denver Water’s sprinkler rules.

Folk legend Judy Collins becomes ambassador for Rocky Mountain National Park

Before her 55 albums, before her seven Grammy nominations, Judy Collins baked bread in a wood-burning stove for hungry hikers in Rocky Mountain National Park. In an exclusive interview, Collins spoke with Colorado Matters Senior Host Ryan Warner about her memories of Rocky Mountain National Park, and becoming an ambassador for the conservancy.

We brought a taxidermied raccoon to Antiques Roadshow

A few weeks ago, the long-running PBS show Antiques Roadshow made a stop at the Denver Botanic Gardens’ Chatfield Farms location in Littleton. Denverite’s Rebecca Tauber and CPR’s Paolo Zialcita were among the 4,000 attendees there hoping to find out the value — and the story — of their favorite treasures.
