I know you will be surprised by the title. Anywhere we go, offices, restaurants, cafes, theaters, living rooms, we find lots of inspirational sentences quoted by renowned politicians, philosophers, artists, management gurus, sports persons and so on. No doubt, they are inspirational. At times, such quotes do give us some food for thought, energy to move forward.
Other day, I was sitting in a waiting area, where lot of such inspirational quotes were written on the wall. Of course, the names of persons who quoted them were mentioned too. Just around that time, two of the attendants passed by, discussing some personal problems. One of them made a statement, which I overheard. I was pleasantly surprised at that thought and then started wondering that why not the quotes by the common people, can inspire us? Over last few days, I tried to remember many such quotes, which I had overheard or overseen and had forgotten with a momentarily smile. I thought it to share them with you. Most of them were in regional languages, so I have translated them to the nearest possible meaning, though the actual punch in the vernacular statement may get lost in that process.

- You don't have choice to be born as what. But you can definitely decide, what you would like to die as. (My 70 years old barber, who started as an ordinary worker and now owns 5 shops in my city)
- God has given you eyes on the front side of your head. That means, He doesn't want you to look back. Look forward and start walking. (A shack owner in Thailand, who had lost everything in Tsunami)
- Gods and Demons, both are created by the Man. No other species in the World have such beliefs. And may be that's the reason they don't have riots. (Some fellow traveler on a train)
- The worst enemy of the Man is Tomorrow. This Tomorrow, which never comes, kills your Today. (Another taxi driver in Mumbai)
I have tried to remember some. I am sure you all must have come across similar such experiences. Can you please share them with us...?
