Quit — But Never Give Up

We used to hear that entrepreneurs have a “never quit” approach, but in our experience, entrepreneurs frequently quit — but they never give up.
They quit doing something that isn’t working — but they don’t give up on the business.
Sometimes it is a matter of shifting your strategies. You might think, in the beginning, that individuals are your most appropriate customers, but learn, over time, that selling to a wholesaler or a corporate group is a better option — or the other way around.
We’ve learned, indirectly, that entrepreneurs never give up looking for new ways to make business happen, they just quit doing the things that don’t make it happen.
Keep in mind the strategies you implement at any phase of your business development or growth need to be somewhat flexible to meet the demand of the market. At the same time, not so flexible that they change every day, just enough to move with the market.
This means you don’t want to be selling cars today and houses tomorrow. No one will be clear about what you do for a living!
Maybe you started selling trucks, but found that small cars were a better option. Same industry, different strategies. Or maybe you shifted from selling trucks to individuals to selling corporate fleets. That’s what we mean by Don’t Give Up — but do quit the strategies that are not working.
BEFORE YOU GO
We see our blogs as opportunities for dialogue. Please share your thoughts as comments.
? What tools do you use to ensure your strategies continue to focus on the results you desire?
? What other strategies have you used to never give up but occasionally quit or let go of something that isn’t working?
? What advice might you offer from your own experience?
