To Quit or Not To Quit?

To Quit or Not To Quit?

I told a family member to quit their job today - and they did!

It wasn't worth the mental health difficulties that had arisen. The emotional pressure and daily challenge of getting up and being in a toxic work environment had finally taken it's toll - enough was enough.

Analysing the emotions - churning stomach, cold sweats and shakes we had to admit that these signs of anxiety and depression were work related. It was easy then to see that the work and personal values were no longer aligned.

It's a tough decision to quit a job, but having been there before myself with no plans on the horizon, I knew that a being true to oneself was more important than a broken human being.

Strong and manly, he wasn't one to talk about feelings and emotions with colleagues. It was all about keeping your head down and getting on with the job - but no longer.

He found his voice and asked for help, pointing out that if things went on, he wouldn't.

The 'manliest' and most bravest moment final happened when he opened up about how fragile he is. Admitting that something is working for you, and you are not strong, is sometimes the strongest you can ever be.

There's no point worrying about how you are going to pay the bills, if you aren't around to pay them. I gave him permission to not worry, and just do what was right for him!

Handing in of his notice, the weight lifted from his shoulders; the skip was back in his step; the thoughts of a brighter future and new beginnings. Living his truth and knowing that he has made the best decision for not just his family, but for himself!

The adventure continue and I will continue to share his journey....

Do you sometimes wish you could just quit?

Should you quit for your own mental health?

I'm a big believer of if you are living your truth, you will find your calling and/or the right career path will appear.
