Quilt Shops Owners do not like to bring threads at Retail Shows

I already noted Quilt Shops Owners do not like to bring threads at Retail Shows and Festivals ...so happened at last QuiltCon, even if there were several Aurifil's Dealers exhibiting on site, ...not just for Aurifil I noted mainly the offer at shows is limited also for those that distribute my competitors threads. The reasons I have been highlighted by shop owners I talked with had been "Racks are heavy to move to shows " and "Spools are easy to steal" ... any other reason you wish highlight ? As Aurifil differently from ALL our competitors does not sell in retail shows in order not to compete with our Dealers, I had so to spend 4 days submerged by an avalanche of complaints by quilters that could not find a proper Aurifil's threads offer at #Quiltcon.

Yes -- I spent two days at QuiltCon looking to buy medium gray Aurifil thread. Finally found it on day 3 of the search, at one vendor's booth.

I think it's time to sell direct to consumers. QuiltCon is full of Aurifil's ideal customer. Why frustrate them when you could satisfy them?

I do bring thread to shows that I vend, mainly because no one else does but I also struggle with how to display. If you put all in a basket, they are hard to shop, I don't have any racks that are the correct size!! always fun to try and come up with innovative ways to display at shows - I am more interested in the product fitting in the vehicle then bringing lots of racks for the product! any suggestions??
