It is in Quiet We Receive, not in Exertion

Today’s Focus Friday card was pulled from Tosha Silver’s Divine Abundance Oracle Deck
For those that do not know Tosha Silver’s work… I highly recommend checking her out.. her books truly do allow for “letting go”, which is so needed to get out of our own way and RECEIVE.
Card of the day: Receiving
Affirmation: Every day it becomes easier to receive the Highest Divine Plan and to trust my inner guidance.
Jennys Message: So much of the time we are running through our day on auto-pilot. Not really hearing our inner talk, but rather going through the motions. Possibly even numbing out with our phones, tv shows/videos, habits, social media and so many other things we have easy and endless access to distract ourselves with. Some of us MIGHT actually take a few seconds or minutes to focus on what we DO want, but more likely that is fleeting, and most of the day is unconsciously focusing on what we do NOT want or speaking to ourselves in unkind ways.
There are so many ways to connect inwards and receive guidance. It does not have to be hours of meditation. The day offers us endless possibilities in moments to tune in and “check in”. The more attention we give to our inner self - the easier it is to access it’s wisdom.
Exercise(s): Today and/or this weekend I would like you to do at LEAST 2 of these three things to tap into your own inner voice (the one based on unconditional love not criticism) and set that intention to quiet the noise around you so you can receive guidance.
1. Turn off all noise and become aware of your breathing. If you have a breathing pattern that suits you - go for it - for 3-4 minutes our more. If not, Box breathing invites in calm and was given to the Navy Seals.. It is breathing in for 4, holding for 4, exhaling for 4 and holding for 4. Repeat. If this is uncomfy - please adopt your own rhythm. Know you can slow this down as you do it so the 4 count takes a little longer. Follow your own intuition. Note how you feel after.
2. Turn off all noise and get comfy. Place your hand on your heart and bring to mind one amazing memory you have.. it could be a calming time in nature, it could be laughing with a friend, cuddling with a pet. Bring in every single sense as you bring that memory to mind and bask in the joy, peace, love or whatever other positive emotion it brought you. Affirm to yourself you HAVE felt this before and you are ready to receive MORE of this goodness!
3. Do something you LOVE that brings in joy - color, draw, dance, sing, stretch - something that takes you out of your head and into your heart. Take at least 10 minutes to do this activity and notice how you feel before and after. Affirm to yourself you deserve this feeling of connection and joy and are inviting more in daily.
4. Connect with nature. Either by a walk or if you have a houseplant - that is fine too. Take some breaths and align with nature. Ask your brain to remove all that is not needed and you can even see yourself scooping it all up and putting it in a box beside you - you can access it later. As you breathe in nature and that connection just notice how you feel. As we assimilate to nature’s rhythm - it offers peace and often clarity. Affirm to yourself you will slow down to connect more often. ??If you do 2 of these things this weekend, you should start to feel that shift.

That willingness to slow down says we love ourselves and we ARE worthy of the guidance that usually can only come in these quiet moments. If you have a busy home life - maybe do one of the first 2 exercises in the shower. Know we have so many little windows of time to connect..,.. when we first get up, in the shower, before bed, as we do tasks like laundry, dishes, etc. Just begin to listen to your mind and where it tends to go. Be gentle with yourself as you tug it back to a more empowering space. The more quiet you invite in - the more guidance you may receive.?
Tuesday is a POWERFUL Full moon. Invite in these feelings of peace as you set the intention to release some of the busy-ness and activity that takes you away from your center and soul, where peace lies.
