Quiet Quitting: When High Achievers Become “Achievers”

Quiet Quitting: When High Achievers Become “Achievers”

A couple of days ago, I was swimming my morning laps in the community pool near my home. Two lanes over from me was another swimmer. The difference between us was that he was accompanied by a swim coach.?

As I spent my time going back and forth to get my cardio in, he was going slower with a more deliberate approach.

The coach walked on the outside of the pool, following her client to watch his movements. When he reached the end of the lane, she's give him feedback on what to improve and then give him instructions on what to focus on next.

It got me thinking.

When we show up to do the things we know how to do, we get the job done. But when we work with a coach, we get to higher levels more quickly than we would otherwise.

Honestly, I know how to swim, but I've never been properly trained. I became motivated to hire a swim coach to help me learn how to strategically swim faster, swim more diversely, and swim stronger. That's not something I can do on my own.

Are you working with a coach to help you achieve higher highs in your life and career?

What's something you do regularly that helps you be productive and get stuff done?

In this week's episode of Decode Your Burnout, we are joined by Lisa Goldenthal, the best-selling author of "The Boss Weight Loss" and the creator of the original Skinny Jeans Workout.

Lisa shares her own story of burnout and how she was able to reverse it through self-leadership and habit stacking. She also debunks a few myths about eating breakfast, sleeping, and drinking alcohol, which is surprisingly widespread among all of us.

My family loves Kombucha. If you're not familiar with this term, it's a fermented drink that's got lots of amazing health benefits (in the same way that kimchi and sauerkraut do). Trouble is, we're always running out.?

So I decided to Youtube my way into making a batch at home. Well, after waiting 2 weeks, it was finally time to open the bottle and WOW!

Think explosion. My entire body and kitchen was covered in liquid and fruit pieces.

This was moments before I went on to record a webinar with my friend, Lora Cheadle about the difference between burnout and betrayal.

So what does my kombucha experience have to do with betrayal and what is the difference between betrayal and burnout?

Tune in to find out.

I recently put together two highly engaging keynote speeches: One on burnout prevention and the other on burnout recovery.?

I noticed the coach at the pool as well. It reminded me how having an observer can help you identify blind spots that you would not have otherwise been able to see for yourself.
