A Quiet Cadence, a novel
Mark Treanor
Author; Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran; Lawyer; Businessman; Executive Coach; Writer
I’m tremendously pleased to announce that my novel, A Quiet Cadence, has just been published by the Naval Institute Press and is now available through the Press, independent bookstores, Barnes & Noble, Amazon and other booksellers. I’ve been honored by the enthusiastic endorsements the novel has received from remarkable leaders like Generals Jim Mattis, David Petraeus, Mike Hagee and Admirals Mike Mullen and James Stavridis. Told from the perspective and with the reflection of a high school teacher on the cusp of retirement looking back on his youth, the book tells the story of a young machine gunner in Vietnam and the years after his war. Though set in Vietnam and it’s aftermath, it’s my hope that the novel’s story of courage and camaraderie, trauma and resilience, healing and love, is a positive one which will have meaning for those who care about veterans of all our wars.

4 年I am also a Vietnam veteran and have a story to tell. I would be glad to give the highlights of my story which include me leaving the seminary to join the Marine Corp because if it was a rightious war to stop godless communism but was only drafting poor unemployed black men by the local draft board unfairly; to my disappointment at addressing my youngest's child's history class that had only half a page about the Vietnam war which was a major event in my life. I am not an author but at my age, I would hope that the story would help my country from making some of the same mistakes again.
