Quid Pro Quo
The Human Resilience Bank Account

Quid Pro Quo

Your people are your business. Are they working in 'resilience credit' or 'mental health deficit'?

If employee engagement, effectiveness, and productivity are some of business's success stories, why are we seeing an increase in workforce mental health concerns as we continue to navigate a rapidly changing and often stressful work environment?

I want to offer you one thought...

We as business owners, CEOs and HR leads are not developing specifically our leaders' and teams' resilience. The more your employees engage in practicing resilience activities and the more attention and energy you as a business give it... the better equipped your employees are to navigate the rollercoaster of life and work successfully.

You cannot ignore the facts. Studies have shown that employees who are more resilient are better equipped to handle the challenges of a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment. They are more productive, engaged, and committed to their work.

It's a Quid Pro Quo - investing in employee resilience creates a more positive and supportive work environment that benefits everyone.

That's why I want to emphasise the importance of investing in employee resilience - not just as a cost of doing business, but as a smart investment that benefits both employees and employers. Filling the metaphorical bank account with resilience, rather than simply plugging the mental health deficit, provides long-term benefits for both.

So what's the next step? How can you fill your business's human bank balance with resilience, engagement, productivity, and effectiveness?

Thank you Cara, I really enjoyed this newsletter and how you have turned the idea of cost vs investment to highlight the importance of staff well-being and resilience.
