QuickTableViewer 2024 for Qlik Sense

The QuickTableViewer extension is used by most Qlik Sense developers around the globe. On every conference, people pump into me and say "Hey, I am using your extension - thanks for it" ...

It was last changed 3 years ago and hasn't seen new functionality for a while, but now its time!

Whats new

The 2024 version will deliver the following changes:

• Support of "normal" table object and new Straight Table Object by Qlik (thanks to Christian Eckler )
• The button will stay on the sheet and you can interact with the target table (reapply your settings as long as needed) !
• A new "counter" column can be added with one mouse-click
• The extension is a template within ancoreScript extension, not an extension on its own

Still, as before, you don't need the QuickTableViewer (=ancoreScript) extension when you are done with rendering your data table. You may remove the button from the sheet and the tables continue to work.

Also, a check by Ralfo Becher makes sure that when you select multiple data-model tables, there must be a link between such tables to avoid fields from two "data islands" in the same object (which could lead to a memory overconsumption)

Why ancoreScript?

I decided to deliver the new version in form of a template solution within ancoreScript, a free Qlik Sense Extension by ancoreSoft, because of the embedded development possibilities (built-in JavaScript editor with access to all objects and Webix UI). So instead of installing another extension each time I create functional extensions, you'd need just this one and have access to a lot of existing and yet to come functionality. Check it out.

1. Donwload and installation of the extensions ancoreScript and ancoreShare
