Stress: Your Body's Call to Recharge

Stress: Your Body's Call to Recharge

?“Everything is on the right track, but you are on a slump.”

What is a slump?

Slump, n:?A period of decline or deterioration, during which a person performs slowly, inefficiently, or ineffectively – dictionary.com

Following graduation, I immediately dove into work. Transitioning from one job to another within different companies felt like a significant milestone on my personal journey to success. With new job offers and projects on the horizon, I was eager to tackle them all, proudly charting my progress on the "road to success" through social media hashtags.

However, as I sat down to write this article, I found myself reflecting on why I was experiencing a "slump" despite everything appearing perfect. It dawned on me that my inner self was desperately calling out for a break.

I had been placing immense pressure on myself to complete all the crucial tasks in my first and second quadrants, convinced that "pressure is preferable to incompetence." In the midst of this, I had forgotten my own humanity—I needed a break. Recognizing that this wasn't the first time I had encountered this feeling, I delved into my statistics and realized that these downturns, or "slumps," in life serve as signals for us to refuel and recharge.

However, viewing slumps as adversaries on our "road to success," we often combat them by working even harder, inadvertently sinking deeper into our slumps.

???????????“I know you have big dreams for yourself, but don’t forget how far you’ve come already. Remember the days you prayed for the things you have now.”

~ Ruben Chavez

You are on a slump my friend. Take a break, make sure that all aspects of your humanity is recharged before you get back on track. Remember that slumps are signals for us to recharge.

The important thing is just to get back on your track as quickly as possible. Refer to the flow chart below.
