A quick welcome to you all!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend wherever in the world you are.

I just wanted to add a quick welcome to all those who have subscribed to the newsletter so far as well as giving a short explanation as to why I have launched the 'Future Makers Newsletter'.

I am passionate about the worlds of education and sports, having been involved in both for over 20 years as a practitioner, leader, and coach.

I realised last year that these were the sectors I found most joy from.

Why?

Because education and sport has the ability to transform the life chances of everyone in a long-lasting and profound way. In future editions I will probably talk a bit about how it has helped me, but for now I am struck by the difference my clients (many of whom are education providers or sports coaching companies) make to the lives of young people everywhere.

For me, thriving education and sports businesses means a happier, healthier and more socially mobile nation, which frankly is never a bad thing!

So in this newsletter I am going to offer ideas, suggestions and tips for education and sports leaders to use in their businesses; highlight those who are making a massive difference to the lives of people up and down the country; and discuss how professional educators, athletes and sportspeople can make the transition from the classroom or pitch to the world of business.

I know this newsletter won't be for everyone, and that is fine. This is just for those committed to making a better future using education and sport as the vehicles, and if I can help in some way, then that is good by me.
