A quick taster of the work of Archives of IT

?? In May we announced a call for papers for AIT's Forum, on 'Norms of the Digital Age'. Norms are ways of behaving or doing things with which most people agree, and we will explore how this has impacted on, or is impacted by technology. To find out more or to submit a paper, see our website.

?? We released lesson and assembly plans for VE Day in May, World Environment Day in June and the Olympic Games and announced the winners of our Schools Oral History Project. Each won tech books by educator Beverly Clarke MBE and a book voucher. Well done to all who participated!

?? With the ICA International Council on Archives International Archives Week in June, and the Archives & Records Association (UK & Ireland) monthly social media campaign 'Explore Your Archive' we were busy sharing the history of tech with our followers, including the iconic photograph above of AIT Chair John Carrington outside the BT tower!

?? Adrian Murphy AIT's PR and Communications Manager gave a talk to the Financial Services Club Z/Yen Group Limited on how the history of tech helps future development. Watch on YouTube below:

?? In our latest feature we explore the history of the UK's Tech companies through the memories of the people that worked there. This includes iconic names such as LEO, BBC Acorn, Marconi and others. We have also updated our Iconic Companies page, tracing the development of BT and Logica through our oral history interviews.
