With all this talk about finance and budgeting, I thought it’d be helpful to give you an idea of just how much a Billion or Trillion actually are…


In “real-time”...


Let’s use “seconds”, (60 seconds = 1 minute)


One Million seconds equals just under 12 days

(11 days, 13 hours 46 minutes and 40 seconds)


One Billion seconds equals just under 32 Years

(31.7097919838 years)


One Trillion seconds equals just under 32,000 Years

(31709.7919837646 years)

The idea of a Trillion anything can feel very abstract.

Hopefully, when hearing someone say “It’s just a Billion more…”

You’ll have a better idea of just how much that is.
