I’ve been working in the field of Social Media for 7 years now and have been associated with multiple industries such as NGOs, Hospitality, Fashion, Business Networking, Gaming & Technology, Finance and many more. Social Media allows me to be extremely versatile and in this versatility, it brings me to one conclusion - that the Social Media Strategy can only WIN if you remember that Content is KING.
"Content is King" - Bill Gates, 1996
But I knew that when I wanted to start my entrepreneurial journey, it had to be about helping others build their empire. My Social Media skills are of no use if I cannot help you conquer your dreams, and everything you envisioned for your business.
Whether you are a business owner, a decision maker or a professional, building your thought leadership and personal brand must always be a priority. I know everyone is very busy trying to excel in their careers, but do you know that the ROI of your efforts can be made 2x if you focused on creating content for yourself to establish your thought leadership? No, its not difficult at all! In-fact, its VERY easy! In today’s world - creating content is basically documenting.
In this post, I’m going to talk about 6 EXTREMELY easy content ideas, which aren’t even time consuming!
- Click Photographs at Events: Have you been invited to speak at an event, or will you just be attending an event? Getting a photo clicked with the correct background, such as a banner with branding makes for a great post. Take 3-5 photos at the least. This shows your network your reach and increases your credibility, hence helps grow your thought leadership. Keep in mind that if you choose to upload multiple photos, choose the top 3 and upload them together, not separately.
- Featured Photographs at Events: Many-a-times photographs of us are clicked and we do not knows nobody knows how to tag us. It is our duty to check after an event if we have been featured. Being featured elsewhere shows that some other organisation cared about you enough to showcase you, hence your credibility level is even more. Go to the host’s Facebook page and check their albums and tag yourself, retweet on Twitter, use the Repost App on Instagram or just save an image. And if you do save and download an image from somewhere, please be sure to give due credit.
- Behind-The-Scenes: The popular #BTS Category is applicable everywhere. By clicking photographs or taking videos of how you work, or your workplace, or the services that you provide adds a human touch to your professional side and provides a depth in the connectivity between you and your target audience. You can either use these photographs or videos as a classic #BTS or use them for other purposes such as #ComingSoon or #ThrowbackThursday or just simply as stock (in the case of) photos for your upcoming blog posts or Social Media headers/banners, to name a few.
- Selfies with Clients/Collaborators/Influencers - Yes, it is absolutely okay to click a selfie with your client or collaborator or influencer. Just don’t miss a great opportunity to show that you have a great relationship with real Being featured elsewhere shows that some other organisation cared about you enough to showcase you, hence your credibility level is even more people. An unposed, informal manner shows closeness and builds trust among your network. This trust helps build credibility which in turn helps you become a thought leader
- Go Live: Video content should be your No. 1 arsenal in your content marketing strategy. But its not always the easiest. I suggest Vlogging but there is something that is even easier than that! It is live-streaming. People are 3x more engaged in live-streaming than any other video. It is because of the personalisation, humanisation and instant gratification that it provides your viewers that leads to your personal brand’s success. Facebook Live, YouTube Live, Instagram Stories Live, and Twitter Live with Periscope are amazing platforms to go live. Some popular Live content is doing Q&As with your target audience or covering an event. Oh, and PS: 2018 is going to be the Year of Video and Instagram.
- LinkedIn Publisher Post: Not a camera friendly person or prefer text over visuals? Dominating the Thought Leadership trends this year is the LinkedIn Publisher Posts, as well. All you have to do is share your thoughts, opinions, tips, advice and experiences here and for all you know, you can be the most influential LinkedIn person of the year!
