QUICK CATCH-UP (Part the First)
Hello again. Yes. I know. Despite my promises earlier this year, I have still neglected LinkedIn of late and I am truly sorry. As it is a nice quiet (and very warm) Sunday afternoon, I thought I'd offer some kind of update. Of course, you don't have to read it. But I definitely have to write it, so those of you who choose to indulge me, thank you!
Firstly, despite my absence, I have not been idle with my writing this year. I have had three articles appear on our local on-line writing magazine PenToPrint. The first appeared in January and looks at the need and necessity to safeguard the future of literature by encouraging youngsters to try their hand at Creative Writing. In February, I was contacted by an American website called Readers Magnet, asking me to write about my book My Writer, why I wrote it, what I hoped it would achieve etc. In March, PenToPrint published a second article - this one about haiku writing. In May, they then published my feature about beating procrastination. This feature was also picked up by the publishers of The Writers & Artists Year Book who then proceeded to publish it on their site earlier this month. In between, a new local paper has picked up several short fillers by me. And to top it off, my youngest grandson's school have asked me to do a couple of talks and readings in July. PLUS the local library is lining up some writing activites for me to run in the autumn!! I am also working on a sci-fi novel for adults (which is leading me a merry dance, I can tell you) and a new book for children is also on the cards. So that is the writing side of my life up to date.
