Questrade cares

At Questrade Financial Group (QFG), we care deeply about helping Canadians become much more financially successful and secure. Our commitment to care extends not just to our customers and employees but to our communities as well. We do this by engaging and supporting the communities we are part of. Here are a few of the charitable endeavors we supported last year.?

We care about financial literacy.

We take pride in our ongoing partnership with JA Central Ontario as we join hands once more to invest in our youth’s financial literacy. We inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy through immersive learning experiences in work readiness, financial health, and entrepreneurship.

Through our involvement in JA Central Ontario’s Dollars with Sense program, students developed personal money management skills and were empowered to make smart financial decisions and become savvy investors. 773 students from 18 schools throughout Central Ontario participated in the program, with 53 Questrade Financial Group volunteers leading the students through core lessons and activities.

Questrade supported this year's JA Central Ontario Golf Classic as a presenting sponsor.?Our team, fellow community members, partners, and students had a fantastic time playing golf and raised $77,230 towards this amazing cause!

Questrade also conducted an Investment Strategies Program (ISP). This 6-week online competition uses stock market data to teach students fundamental investing principles. The program includes researching, selecting investments, and managing an online stock portfolio. This prepares students to make savvy investment choices throughout their lives, better preparing them for the future. This year, 5,144 students from 187 schools participated throughout Central Ontario.

We care about food security.?

We help those experiencing hard times by partnering with Food Banks Canada to provide one day's worth of meals for every new account opened. Questrade Financial Group has donated over 300,000 meals in 2023 and over 2.5 million meals since the partnership started in 2017. We are proud of our continued efforts to lend a helping hand and give back to our local communities.

Questraders also love to give their time to help those in need. Throughout the year, we had 12 groups spend the morning at their local Food Banks, sorting through food donations for the community. Altogether, all groups sorted through over 30,360 lbs of food!

Additionally, we participated in the Food Bank After the Bell packing event this year. This exceptional program ensures that children receive food packs. Our team was one of the volunteer groups that sorted food items and assembled meals to support children facing food insecurity during the summer.

We care for grassroots communities.

Our people can also contribute their time to causes they are passionate about with paid community care days. In 2023, our people contributed over 4,270 hours to giving back to their communities.

Our People and Culture team sponsored a family of 4 that fled the war in Ukraine and is currently experiencing difficulty adjusting to life in Canada, with the cost of living being so high. The team provided 6 boxes of donations for the family to brighten up their festive season.

Our Technology team gave back to the community by volunteering to teach coding and computer science to youth. They partnered with Canada Learning Code and Beyond 3:30, an after-school program in Toronto that offers extracurricular activities to students ages 8-14. Our team members were mentors during these workshops, sharing their knowledge and skills and inspiring the next generation of coders and computer scientists. They also provided additional support to help bring the content to life, ensuring learners had the best experience possible.

Questraders across the globe also gave back to the communities they work in. Here are some of the activities Questraders participated in around the world:

Our dedicated team in Brazil took part in many CSR events throughout the year. From left to right: 1. They teamed up with Grupo Partilhar, a local organization dedicated to feeding and supporting the homeless community. They prepared and delivered food to over 300 people 2. In Belo Horizonte, they volunteered their time to assist “Comida que Abra?a” in preparing food for the homeless community, giving much-needed support to 420 people 3. They also worked with Amigos de Fé Joinville to deliver sweets to children during Easter. 4. In S?o Paulo, the team helped with donations, food preparation, and delivery of lunch boxes to people experiencing homelessness. ? 5. In Curitiba, they helped people in need with food and gifts.

In addition, they helped with cash donations for the expansion of the Telhado Verde Agroecologico, where part of the organic food produced is sold to the surrounding neighborhoods, and most of the food is donated to people in need through the Family Assistance Center (NAS).

Every year, our team in Armenia participates in a heartwarming Secret Santa initiative for children. This year, in addition to that, they collaborated with the Viktoria humanitarian organization to support a child by covering their course of physiotherapy.

Earlier in the year, our team in Israel donated their time to The National Food Bank. (picture on the left) The team gathered to sort surplus vegetables from farmers that will then be delivered to those in need through various nonprofit organizations! They also volunteered with Atzitztari, a social enterprise in Hod Hasharon that employs people with intellectual developmental disabilities. (on the right) They enjoyed working alongside the team to plant pots and kits in reusable cans for growing spices.

Our team in Barbados volunteered and packed food hampers for those in need.

In 2024 and beyond, we will continue with these and other initiatives to give back to the community. If you want to join a team that genuinely cares and wants to make a difference, QFG is the place for you. Check out our open positions: https://www.questrade.com/about-us/careers
