The Questions!

A really smart person once said, that the quality of your answers hinge upon the quality of your questions, or something to that effect. The truth is, very few people ask themselves any questions when charting their life in personal finance. Of course Life, the great facilitator will give you some answers regardless of if you asked a question or not. A note of caution, you may not like the answers given. It is curious, because it would be a rare thing to see a teacher putting answers on a board and then tell students go find the questions. That's how many people set their equations for personal finance. So the first question one should be asking oneself is "What do I want for my financial life?" Specificity is best. Wishy washy retorts like, "I want to be comfortable," doesn't put meat in the sandwich. You could put milestones, like I want x in 5 years, 10 years etc. Once you have that frame work, we can go on to some more questions. Who said adulting was easy?
