What's the difference between architectural services and interior design services during a full renovation?
Architectural services and interior design services both play an important role in a full renovation, however, their focus and roles are very different. Architectural services typically involve the large-scale aspects of a full renovation, such as demolition, structural adjustments, and mechanical alterations. This often requires a professional, such as an architect, who is able to make these necessary changes while also making sure they are safe and in compliance with building codes. On the other hand, interior design services typically focus on smaller, aesthetic aspects such as selecting wall finishes, coordinating fabrics, and specifying furniture and lighting. The objective of an interior designer is to ensure the aesthetics of the renovation look attractive and inviting to the inhabitants.
Though the roles of architectural and interior design services may appear to overlap at times, the distinction between them is essential in completing a successful renovation. Working together in conjunction with one another ensures the project meets its required functional needs, as well as aesthetic aspirations.
