Questions to Ask Your Regulatory Staff/Consultant - New California Regulation
In my experience, most companies want to comply with the proper regulations. However, they do not always know the right questions to ask their staff or consultant to ensure they are covering all bases. This post will explore some ongoing regulatory topics, as well as some current hot topics.
Topic of the week: Cosmetic Fragrance and Flavor Ingredient Right to Know Act
Question: What is this new Act?
This was recently signed into law in the State of California and requires the manufacturer of a product sold in California to disclose certain ingredients and certain allergens at particular concentrations listed on defined lists to the Division of Environmental and Occupational Disease Control. The list of products with these ingredients and their associated health hazards will be posted to the public by the Division of Environmental and Occupational Disease Control. The compliancy date for this one is fairly soon on January 1, 2022, so companies may want to get a jump start now collecting this information.
