It is easier to set a goal when we have a general direction as to where we want to go. This question helps with that.

In our last edition, we explored the cultural aspects you appreciate. Now, let’s reflect on current or past bosses you’ve worked for.?

Valuing certain leadership qualities helps you identify potential employers/ bosses with similar leadership styles. It enables to you continue to grow and thrive as a leader.

Key Question to Ask:

Practical tips:

  1. List valued qualities: Write down the leadership qualities you value most. This could include transparency, decisiveness, empathy, or innovation.
  2. Reflect on their importance: Consider why these qualities are important to you and how they have supported your leadership.
  3. Seek similar leadership: During your job search, look for organisations and leaders who exhibit these qualities. Design some interview questions to help you spot them in an interview.

Next edition, we’ll discuss the team dynamics you have enjoyed in your current leadership role.

Keep calm and curious,

Kate
