A question of right or wrong?

So how would you define a good digital analyst?
Of course there are several dimensions that one could mention… tech savvy, good data understanding, statistically competent, commercial acumen…?
You name them, they're all relevant and important.
But there is another one.?
A tough one?
And we can sum it up in one word, that's a quality that any analyst should have in relation to what they're doing. The feeling of responsibility or more precisely seen from the other side, that we are…?
?Accountable.?
It's impressive how such a small word can be so meaningful and at the same time define what we're doing, how we're doing it and not least how the world around us perceive us.
I guess in the bigger picture it's one of the curses of digital analytics because what does it mean to be accountable for us, it means that someone holds you responsible for what is available and in the system.
The quality, relevance and accessibility of the data.?
?And that doesn't sound too hard does it?
But the problem is that the someone who is holding you accountable also need to understand what you're doing to actually be able to do so.?
That means that whoever is looking at the result also needs to have more than a fundamental understanding of what is going on and how data and analytics works and what the bigger point is.?
And they don’t always, or at least not completely.?
But the problem is, that if no one knows what good looks like, then it also becomes almost impossible to fail.?
But from a commercial aspect we need help.?
Because from that perspective there are countless ways to do it right, but there is also an almost unlimited number of ways to do it wrong.

How do you end a month that begins with bang, you end it with a wow
Or almost.?
A Waw at least...
I had the pleasure of kicking off the month as a part of the first edition of the Agency Leadership Forum arranged by the Brand Leadership Community Community to try to explore the art of being an agency and evolve the dynamics of the trinity of vendors, agencies and clients.?
Turned out to be one of the most original events of 2024 so far with great interactions from people like Thomas Wilson , Chris Kubby , Michael Laursen , Nikola Krunic and Marta Florentyna Saratowicz , so I'm really looking forward to the next edition rumored to be on the drawing board for the fall in Copenhagen. Kudos to Jomar Reyes Reyes on the execution.?
Almost the same energy was found during an internal event together with the Brand Leadership Community for a client in Aarhus for the 4th time where we gather more than 50 people across their different ecommerce business units to strengthen knowledge sharing? and get to know each other with special guest star appearance of cool people like Bryan Williams and Rasmus Houlind ?? - very cool indeed.?
Two days later I also got a chance to hang out with the bravest woman in Amsterdam Carly Boddy at not just one but 3 events. The Google Partner Update arranged by Weiwei Liu-Schr?der and Volkert Wilkens , the Women In Analytics (WIA) - NL powered by Marlous Been and Laure van Ravensberg and naturally Measurecamp Amsterdam . Being from the Google Analytics 4 team, she not only faced to sets of questions from agitated analyst at the end of her sessions, she also pushed the bucket to the max and did a Ask Me Anything session at a Measurecamp full of semi frustrated GA4 nerds.
So full kudos to Carly.
On a sidenote just wanted to add that the biggest positive surprise was the Women In Analytics (WIA) - NL , if I am even qualified to have an oppinion since I still fall fairly outside the target group. From my perspective it was both great talks and execution delivered to a sold out room, so full respect to team WIA.
Naturally my personal favorit of the month was Web Analytics Wednesday where we once again managed to line of a stellar line up of Doug Hall , Johan Strand , Fabrizio Bianchi , Héctor P. Martínez, PhD , Jonas Velander and Olga Safonova ? in a insightful show the certainly gave everybody something to ponder, engange with or take home.
Next WAW CPH coming on September 25, so make sure to reserve the calendar and follow the group already since we have put together another - in my oppinion - awesome program...

It was filmed in Copenhagen during the K&S day a full-day event for people working with communication and language, where I tried to explore what impact they as an industry need to have on AI and how they would need to adapt to get the most value from it.??
The next 3 parts will be shared over the next couple of weeks to maximize entertainment value.?

Good points, haven’t considered i this way as you said: When not knowing how ”good” looks, we don’t face problems (failures) which usually teach most. Why? Because we can any point turn away from the problem, and do some random ”nice to have stuff” instead —> No sensible goals, no northstar showing the direction (any direction looks good).
