The Question No One Thinks to Ask...

I feel this post hard:

I’ve been in this guy’s shoes.

You start out a poor kid living in a double-wide trailer with nothing but a dream to live like the other half.

So you work hard and take risks to pull yourself out.

Then the money starts rolling in. You have everything you’ve ever wanted…

Big houses, nice cars, more money in the bank than you can spend.

Then one day you wake up and ask the question you should have asked at the beginning…

“Why am I doing this?”

It’s a big, hard, transformative question. What is this money for? This success? This achievement?

I can promise you the answer isn’t, “So I can be a 1%’er”

It’s like I’ve said many times, “Money only matters to people who don’t have it. Once you have enough to be comfortable, your work needs to be about something more.”

What I’ve determined is that money is a tool to buy time.

Time to spend on exploration, on creative pursuits.

Time to see the world. To study, read and have as many experiences as possible.

To live a full and fulfilled life.

I can think of nothing worse than living a life in a prison of your own making…

Blinded by ambition and the need for validation.

I realize this letter isn’t going to resonate with everyone.

If you’re still living through your ‘broke’ stage then my words will seem like the privileged opinion of someone who’s already made his millions.

But if you’ve been nodding your head as you read then you’re at a stage when it’s important to look at how you can re-engineer your business (and life) to focus on time-freedom and income mobility.

I have dedicated the last 7 years of my life to achieving that goal - and helping others achieve it too.

These daily letters are part of that mission…

Along with a form of therapy for me. :)
