Question for my agents...
Today I want to ask a question... what do agents want from their loan officers?
I have always assumed that their client would come first... but I have heard agent after agent demand money for marketing, leads, and more. Things they can use, instead of the things that matter to their clients.
Clients want...
If a lender pays for all the agent demands then they have to make it up somewhere. Higher fees or rates is not in your clients interests. Quality service and reasonable costs are.
Now I am not attacking anyone's model or criticizing any agent that asks for things... well done, and I am always ready to help my agent partners. But the client should always come first. What should matter...

An agent I know recently came across a lender who quoted his client a rate that was a quarter point high and fees that were $3k higher... but they were willing to pay for that agents marketing.
We all make our living on commission, but losing sight of who we serve is not what we should do. Everyone I know says our politicians are not looking out for the people... well we as an industry need to never forget the client.
So where am I going with this... my first thought today was how little respect the real estate industry gets... much of it undeserved. But we get mentioned with used car salesman and predatory loan companies. Why? Because we as an industry are often perceived as putting our interests ahead of client interests.
I will take care of your client, if they can get a loan I will find a way to do it, I will get them closed and I will make a reasonable fee for doing so. I will get you paid which is far more valuable than paying for a mailer. When we work together we will ensure your client has a great experience.
Am I wrong?
