What are some tips to live through a renovation?
Living through a renovation can be stressful but with a little bit of planning and a good attitude, you can make it through with your sanity intact. Here are a few tips to help you out if you don't have the option to move out.
1. Be realistic: Be aware of how long it may take and be prepared for delays. Renovations can often take longer than anticipated and it's important to remain flexible and prepared to adapt as the situation evolves.
2. Prepare for noise and dust: Renovations create a lot of noise and mess. Make sure to plan for ways to make yourself and your family comfortable and to keep the disruption of dust and noise to a minimum. Consider asking the contractors for dust sheets and sound-reducing materials when necessary.
3. Stay organized: Renovations often require a lot of small parts and pieces, so make sure to keep them organized to minimize the time you need to spend searching for them. Additionally, label items that may need to be relocated, and find creative ways to store the clutter while the work is being done.
These tips will help make living through a renovation process smoother and less stressful. Following these tips, along with creating a detailed timeline, budgeting, and utilizing a storage unit can make all the difference.
