Last Monday of November and we are off to the last month of 2024! How quick was that?

This week we are taking a 180-degree turn and look at the opposite side of leadership goals - leadership frustrations.

We’ve reflected on what you enjoy about your current role; now let’s explore the aspects you find frustrating.

Understanding frustrations helps you avoid similar issues in future roles. It ensures that your next role addresses and mitigates these challenges.

Key question to ask:

Practical tips:

  1. List frustrations: Write down the specific elements of your role that you find most frustrating. This could be bureaucratic processes, lack of support, misalignment with company values or something else.
  2. Reflect on why: Consider why these aspects frustrate you. Understanding the underlying reasons can help you seek roles that better align with your expectations.
  3. Seek improvements: Look for roles and companies that actively address these frustrations. Ask about how they handle similar issues during interviews.

Next time, we’ll discuss the leadership tasks or responsibilities you least enjoy.

Keep calm and curious,

Kate

Barriers and resistance to change I always find frustrating. Employees or teams unwilling to adapt to new strategies or innovations slow progress making it difficult when everything moves so fast.
