QUESTION FROM A COACH – CAN YOU COMBINE COACHING WITH OTHER SERVICES?
Jennifer Powers, MA, MCC Mentor Coach
Founder of Powerhouse Coaching and passionate about supporting coaches to earn their credentials and become the best in the world.
Question – Is there?another service?that works nicely with my coaching?services?
Jennifer - You can absolutely combine coaching with other?offerings.?And I'm not going to say that you should, but there is a lot of opportunity there if indeed it suits you.
One complimentary?service?you might consider is public speaking. Speaking has quite honestly been a secret to my success, even in the beginning of my coaching practice. Utilizing speaking as both an additional revenue stream and as a marketing tool?has been so much fun, and quite lucrative.
Getting in front of your target audience and sharing your passion, your knowledge, your experience and ideas with them?is such a gift!?And it doesn't only have to be delivering keynotes. Workshops and webinars are great, too. Whatever form you choose to deliver your content, it’s?an opportunity to?share your knowledge, build credibility and help more people. And again, it doesn't have to be paid. In the beginning you can deliver them for free. In that case, it's a marketing tool.

Another option?that some coaches turn to is consulting or mentoring. I'm a mentor coach. I don't just coach professionals to help them build competence and confidence, I also mentor other coaches, and that’s been a wonderful part of my business. There’s also consulting. For example, you might hear of a business coach who runs new entrepreneurs through a program. As a consultant you can use your professional knowledge to help others further their pursuits.?And when appropriate, bring in your coaching skills to help them work through a limiting belief or fear. Brilliant!
So there are many different opportunities to combine with coaching and one will feed the other. My advice is whatever you choose, do it first because you really want to. For example, if you'd rather have a root canal than speak in front of a group, then choose another opportunity to compliment your coaching. Right? However, if you’re really excited about working with groups, then do groups.?You get it. Do what you love and the rest will take care of itself.:)
