Children are encouraged to celebrate their accomplishments and milestones. They are oftentimes rewarded as well. Whether it's for accomplishing good grades, winning at sports, reaching a birthday, or whatever the case may be, children look forward to their wins. The anticipation of the celebration motivates them to reach the goal.
Somewhere along the journey between childhood and adulthood, adults stop celebrating wins. The busyness of adult responsibilities take over our lives and we keep running on the hamster wheel without taking time to celebrate ourselves.
For entrepreneurs, the hamster wheel process is even more fast and furious as you build and grow your businesses. But as the saying goes, it is important to 'stop and smell the roses.' This is true in general and as it pertains to LinkedIn.
Effectively leveraging LinkedIn can be a key marketing and sales strategy for all entrepreneurs. It is the number one social media platform where the users have a business mindset. It is where entrepreneurs can reach their ideal clients, capture them into their sales funnel and convert them into clients. This process happens when you are consistent on the platform. Staying consistent can be challenging for some. This is why celebrating your LinkedIn wins is important.
When you generate results from LinkedIn, celebrate the wins. Doing so can keep you motivated to continue leveraging the platform. The more you put into LinkedIn, the more your business can move forward. Whether the win is reaching a certain number of connections or followers, having a trending post, receiving a great recommendation, etc...celebrate! Doing so can be an emotional boost for you, but it also has a ripple effect. When others see your celebratory posts, they can cheer you on and get to know, like and trust you more. Keep in mind, people tend to do business more with those whom they know, like and trust.
An example of how to celebrate your LinkedIn wins can be seen in this case study of a post an entrepreneur recently made.
Connie received a LinkedIn notification of her post being in the top 1% engagement on LinkedIn. She took a screenshot of the notification. Connie uploaded the screenshot, added the 'OMG I did it' sticker and made a post celebrating this win. Her post generated significant Reactions, Comments and Views. This included engagement from 2nd & 3rd level connections.
Of course Connie (fictional name) could have just continued about her day when she received the notification or celebrated the win in private. But turning the notification into the basis for a LinkedIn posts created an opportunity for her to further extend her expertise. Thus getting people to know, like and trust her more.
Another example of celebrating your LinkedIn wins in practice is one that many of you may have seen. Perhaps you reach a milestone of connections or followers or maybe a business anniversary. You can make a LinkedIn post with a graphic that highlights the milestone. Here's a similar example of a post I made after I published my 100th LinkedIn article. The post went viral! This was a tremendous boost to my LinkedIn analytics and generated quality LinkedIn connection invites (putting more people into my sales funnel).
The options to celebrate your LinkedIn wins are endless. Entrepreneurs can incorporate this into their ongoing LinkedIn content strategy. Don't keep your wins to yourself. Celebrate them with your network as another way to Shine Online!
